- Breaking change: replaced the unmaintained mysql driver with mysql2. Adds support for the caching_sha2_password authentication (the default on MySQL 8.x; MySQL 8.4 disables mysql_native_password by default and MySQL 9 removes it).
- Added optional SSL/TLS settings to the connection form: Use SSL (encrypted, server certificate not verified) and CA Certificate (encrypted, server certificate verified against the CA). Existing accounts without these fields connect without SSL as before.
- All components and the connection check now share one set of connection options. Query now returns DATE/DATETIME/TIMESTAMP values as strings as returned by MySQL (e.g. '2024-05-01 10:00:00') instead of ISO dates converted to UTC, and BIGINT values outside the safe integer range as strings instead of rounded numbers, the same way the triggers already did.
- Value differences of the new driver: ZEROFILL integer columns are returned as numbers (leading zeros are lost; the old driver returned a string). DECIMAL values are always returned as numbers; in triggers, DECIMAL values outside the safe integer range were strings before and are now rounded numbers. JSON columns are still returned as strings, BIT columns as binary data, TIME as strings.
- An invalid Port value (not a number) is now rejected with a clear error.
- Triggers: the Storage input is a text field with suggestions, so a data store ID can be entered when the list cannot be loaded.
